Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress is well known for her performance in films and on television since the mid 1980s. The year was 1980 and Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They got married in 1997.
